Southern States is pleased to honor our equine customers who have recently won in competitions. Congratulations to all our Winners!

Fall is in full swing – and Southern States customers are bringing home wins by the bushel.

December 16th Highlights

The show year is already off and running and Southern States customers are doing their fair share of taking home blue ribbons.

At the December Hunter Classic, held at Morven Park December 4-7, Meadowbrook Stables had a very successful show, taking home three tri-color ribbons.

Meanwhile that same week, down at the Carolina Horse Park, Kathy Bennett was champion in the Amateur Owner Hunters on Winning My Way.

The Barracks, located in Charlottesville, VA started their winter show series December 11-14. Southern States customers picking up wins included Hampden Row, Cedar Creek Farm, Lisa Hammerschmidt, Show Place Farm, Meadowbrook Stables and MEA Haven Farm.

Congrats to Southern States-sponsored trainer Tommy Garland. Tommy was recently selected to return as a participant at the 2009 Road to the Horse Trainer Challenge in Franklin, TN, next March.

Southern States dealer – Mill of Bel Air (MD) recently placed 11th in the Equestrian Retailer’s national ranking of feed/tack store based on sales volume.

Robyn Roesser, a Southern States employee in the Store Development Department, finished up strong on her horse Live A Little. Robyn and “Hero” ended up 4th for the year in the VHSA Adult Pleasure Division. Robyn trains with Claire Durham.


December 9th Highlights

Halfway Dignified wins World Champion HunterA huge round of applause to Southern States customer Nancy Rataski on her yearling filly’s success at the Appaloosa World Show held in Fort Worth, TX, last month. Halfway Dignified won the World Champion Hunter in Hand Yearling Fillies class.  She was shown to victory by Heather Lynn. The Rataskis reside in Youngsville, NC and feed their winners Legends Mare and Foal purchased from the Louisburg Southern States.


December 6th Highlights

Congratulations to Maryland trainer Kim Williams on being honored as the Maryland Horse Show Association’s Horse Person of the Year. Kim runs Willow Wood Farm out of Woodbine, MD, and is a faithful Southern States customer. Kim is often seen at the hunter, equitation and jumper rings with her daughters Emily, Hannah and Ellie.
