Your pond can be blue and weed-free
Whether your pond is used for irrigation or pleasure, aquatic weeds are detrimental to a healthy and beautiful pond. Excessive weeds can interfere with fishing, boating, swimming and irrigation.
Weed control in ponds can be tricky. Watershed safety means treatment options can be limited. However, there are products available that help control weeds in ponds. Early identification and treatment of a problem will provide the best results. Once the problem has been identified, consult your Southern States dealer to determine the best treatment.
Aquashade, an aquatic dye registered by EPA, controls weeds by blocking the sunlight. Aquashade creates a beautiful aqua-blue coloration to water without clouding or significantly reducing visibility. It is easy to apply and is effective for use in sites ranging from backyard garden pools to large ponds. Application of Aquashade does not restrict livestock watering or swimming and does not interfere with irrigation uses.
Cutrine® Plus is an algaecide that controls existing algae and inhibits rapid reinfestation. It is registered for use in farm fish ponds, drinking water reservoirs and many other uses. There are no restrictions for domestic uses, livestock watering or swimming following application of Cutrine-Plus.
