New Book Chronicles White Sands Horse Rescue
Don Höglund, DVM, our Vet’s Corner author, has just published Nobody’s Horses: The Dramatic Rescue of the Wild Herd of White Sands (Free Press, $25). In 1994 a herd of almost 2,000 wild horses began dying of starvation and dehydration on the desolate White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Högland led the rescue operation and subsequent adoption efforts, ultimately adopting three of the horses himself. The book is available now at local bookstores and at http://www.NobodysHorses.com.
Feivel is Heading to the Big Leagues!
Feivel, a 6-year-old Westphalian Gelding, owned by Woods End Farm of Suffolk, VA, has qualified for the 24th Annual Colonel Bengt Ljungquist Memorial Dressage Championships at the Virginia Horse Center in late October. Danielle Rowland qualified Feivel at First Level with a score of 66.57%. Feivel is by Feinsinn (Fidermark-Bolero). Legends® Equitech 10 (from the Chesapeake Southern States) is the fuel that has helped Feivel strut to his wins! Best of luck to Feivel at the end of this month!
Feeding A Winning Filly
