Welcome to the Winter 2008 Equussource. It's cold out there, so sit down someplace warm to enjoy everything this issue has in store. But before you get into the entertaining and educational content of the magazine, I have a little bit of business to get out of the way.

By now you've probably noticed some changes in our Legends® line of horse feed. On the outside, we've given Legends® a fresh look with some new packaging. More importantly we’ve tweaked what’s inside the bag to give your horses an improved formula that will bring increased balance to their daily diets. For starters we’ve employed Controlled Carbohydrate Technology ™ to lower levels of starch and sugar. This creates less risk of insulin resistance, colic and founder, while fostering proper bone development in growing horses, increased muscle performance and calmer behavior.

If you're curious about what goes into your horse's Legends® feed - as well you should be - view a short video presentation by Dr. Martin Adams, our equine nutritionist. You can also contact your local Southern States representative, and they’ll tell you everything you need to know about the improved Legends® line.

Now it's time to sit fireside under a well-worn blanket and enjoy these stories of horses living the good life. This issue is packed full with stories of Fox Hunting 101,an up 'n coming horse photographer - Krystal Saint James, jumping mules, safer barns and expert trainer, Junior Johnson. This winter issue will warm your heart.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the improved Legends® formula and this issue of Equussource. We're working hard to satisfy all your equine needs.
